Employees Honored for Longevity of Service


Mt. Vernon, IL (June 22, 2016) – SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital and SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital-Centralia hosted a Recognition Reception on Thursday, June 9th at A Fair Barn in Salem.  During this event, employees were honored for significant years of service.  Two hundred ninety-eight dedicated men and women were celebrated at this event with a special focus on those serving for 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 and even 45 years.  The combined experience of those celebrating an extra special anniversary adds up to an amazing 4,185 years.

Although not in attendance of the celebration, Rita Vaught was recognized for giving 45 years of faithful commitment to SSM Health. Vaught works in Diagnostic Radiology as SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital in Mt. Vernon.  She is the most senior employee reaching a milestone anniversary. 

"When an employee reaches a milestone such as this, they must be commended.  At SSM Health, each job is a mission to continue the healing ministry of Jesus Christ.  Because of our exceptional employees' dedication, our patients continue to receive the best possible health care," states Brenda Alexander, Regional Vice President Human Resources for SSM Health.

Forty year celebrants are James Barnes who works in Radiology Diagnostics, Geralyn Davis working in Endoscopy, Lee Ann Earle who works in Critical Care and Harlan Pierce working in Laboratory.  The photo attached shows Geralyn Davis as she was recognized at the event.  Left to right are John Sigsbury, President of SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital Centralia, Davis, Ma tt Sojka, MD, President of SSM Health Medical Group and Mike Warren, President of SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital.  

Thirty-five years is a tremendous accomplishment, this anniversary is shared by Deborah Bost from Clinical Nutrition, Natalie Brammeier from Telemetry, Kathy Carman from Case Management/IP Social Services, Angela Hart from Plant Facilities, Rodney Roberson from Respiratory Therapy and James Rueter from Anesthesia.  Carman and Rueter attended the event.  The 35 year photo shows Sigsbury, Rueter, Carman, Sojka and Warren. 

The thirty year photo shows Sigsbury and Sojka, then Mark Szatkowski from Plant, Linda Bryn from Sleep and Neurosciences, Linda Wilkerson from Medical Group Primary Care Centralia, Kristen Houser and Janet Carter both from Material Magement, Pamela Twenhafel of Palliative Care, Lola Zimmermann from Information Systems, Vicki Edwards of PACU, Leslie Allen of CQI Plus/Projects and Michael Warren, President of SSM Health Good Samaritan Hospital.  Mike is also celebrating 30 years.  Those who are not pictured are Kathryn Adams, Wayne Grote, Terry Guess, Janet Hamil, Judith Hermening, Peggy Mitchell, Patricia Shaw and Diane Smith. 

The team celebrating twenty-five years is: Paul Adams, Doris Arnold, Lisa Becker, Susan Bergmann, Penny Bixler, Debra Boatright, Larry Brinkmann, Janita Collier, Katherine Decker, Susan Dollar, Judith Erpenbach, Laura Fauke, Robert Frisch, Blanche Garner, Donna Glenn, Pamela Heck, Robbie Hegwood, Darryl Jones, Carol Koehler, Brenda Kunick, Dorothy Larsen, Robyn Austin, Laurie Mestel, Laurie Mulvaney,Carolyn Paxton, Karen Queen, Monica Schuetz, Bonnie Smith, Deborah Stricklin, Madona Syxiengmay, David Toennies, Carla Trotter, Penny Vest, Bradley Voss, Barbara Wall and Dona Whaley.  This group has given a total of 900 years.
